Cookie policy
Last updated 20 August 2026
This page lists what this site stores on your device and what it contacts before you decide. It was written by loading the site in a clean browser and reading the result, so it describes the site rather than the intention behind it.
Before you choose anything
Nothing is stored on your device. Load the homepage with no prior visit and there are no cookies, no local storage and no session storage from us. The banner appears, and until you answer it your device stays untouched.
Being straight about the other half: three things are contacted when the page loads, even though none of them stores anything yet.
- Google Tag Manager loads, in a mode that forbids it from storing anything until you accept. Loading it still tells Google your IP address and which page you opened.
- Cloudinary serves the images and the hero video, which needs your IP address in the same way any image host does.
- Vercel Analytics counts the page view. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, which is why it isn't in the table below.
- Sentry receives a report if something goes wrong.
So "nothing happens until you accept" would be false about being contacted, while staying true about storage. The rules on cookies bite on storage, and there isn't any until you say yes.
What gets stored once you choose
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
ea-blades-cookies | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so you aren't asked on every page | Until you clear it |
cb-intro-played | Session storage | Remembers you've already seen the opening animation, so it doesn't replay | Until you close the tab |
_ga, _ga_* | Cookies, Google Analytics | Counts visits and pages viewed | Up to 2 years |
The first two are set whichever way you answer, because they exist to remember your answer and to avoid replaying an animation. They tell us nothing about you and never leave your browser. The Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept.
The map
The footer map doesn't load until you ask for it. Once you do, Google may set cookies inside that frame on its own domain, under Google's policy rather than ours. We can't see them and we can't list them here, which is precisely why the map now waits to be asked.
Changing your mind
Clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will ask again on your next visit. In most browsers that's under Privacy, then site data. Declining costs you nothing: every part of the site works either way.
